WILD MEDIAA few folks have asked us how we make updates to our blog from the field.  The Inside Passage, while being remote, has evenly spaced cities.  Though we did carry a good deal of electronics in our kayaks, we were always able to locate wi-fi to make a new post.  The technology is so advanced, we have been able to capture this adventure in a way not imaginable before.

SEATTLE FINISH SET

We will finish our 95-day expedition October 11, at 1:00 p.m. in Myrtle Edward Beach, Seattle.  If you will be in the area feel free to stop by.
A KAYAK HOMECOMING
Josh built our two kayaks, but the wooden kits were donated from Pygmy Boats.  It was our honor to travel through the manufactures headquarters in Port Townsend, WA.  The boats have exceeded our expectations: Beautiful lines, the perfect boat for our expedition.

PORT TOWNSEND, WA– We thought we had crazy boats for such an undertaking.  At the Kinetic Race in northern Washington, boat builders create human powered vessels that travel over land and sea.  The Magic School Bus (featured to the left) was the rig to beat, lumbering over sand and through the Pacific.

KEEPING THE WEIGHT ON
Paddling as much as we have on this trip, you can burn 5,000 calories a day.  To keep from wasting away, we have incorporated heavy calorie foods such as mayonnaise, butter, olive oil, hamburger, cheese, and half & half into our diets.  After 90 days Josh has maintained his original weight and J.J. as put on 4 pounds.

GOODBYE CANADA
It was sad to say farewell but exciting to enter the United States again.  We have paddled from Alaska, across British Columbia, and into Washington state.
To the left Josh enjoys a heaping serving of poutine, a popular greasy dish served in Canada?  Poutine includes french fries, gravy, and cheese!
